Information about staying in the units This guide provides basic information about the units and resort. If you aren't sure about anything or have questions, please reach out.
No smoking - There is no smoking permitted inside any of the units, including tobacco and cannabis.
Internet- All guests have access to our password-protected Wifi network during their stay. The log-in information is posted in all the units and at the top of this page.
Garbage and Recycling- Every unit has a garbage can with white bags, and an additional plastic bin to collect recycling (under the sink or in a closet). Garbage bags can be dropped off in the big grey bin by the barn, beside the pay phone. No loose garbage please, just let us know if you need additional garbage bags. There are blue bins for recycling (can be loose)- including beverage containers (beer bottles, wine bottles, cans), and other recycling (cardboard, plastic containers).
Air Conditioning and Heat - Every unit has an air conditioning unit (heat pump with remote control) and baseboard heaters.
You can adjust the cooling temperature of your unit up or down or turn it off, but please do not change the mode (from heat to cool, or vice versa). The mode of the units are set for the whole building (e.g., air conditioning). During the summer, if you need heat, you can turn on the baseboard heaters and turn off the air conditioning.
If the windows are open, please turn off the air conditioning! It is hard on the units to run with the windows opened, and this action pulls in excessive moisture into the rooms.
Pets - No pets allowed in the units, unless it is a pet-friendly designated unit. Please read our Pet Policy for more information. They are cute but do not feed the deer.
Linens - All units are equipped with bed linens and towels. There are two bath towels per person in the units. If you need fresh towels during your stay, please let our housekeeping staff know or text us.
Cleaning supplies- In your unit, you will find a broom (e.g., in a closet), a dish rack under the sick, dish soap, scrubby, all-purpose cleaner and some cleaning rags. You will be provided a dish cloth and drying towels, generally left on your kitchen counter or the microwave.
Drip Coffee makers - All units have drip coffee makers and coffee filters provided. You can bring your own coffee or purchase some freshly ground local coffee at the front office.
Information about the Resort
Accessing the Beach - There are four staircases down to the beach from the property. There is a staircase at either end of the boardwalk, one off the shared front deck, and one more on the far east side. At peak high tide, the water will be up to the stairs and you won't be able to access the beach - you'll need to wait a few hours for the tide to recede.
Shared Guest Outdoor Spaces - Guests of Seaside can relax in various oceanfront spaces across the property, including the large lawn, the boardwalk, the waterfront deck, and the side deck. You will see picnic tables, Muskoka chairs, and BBQs around for general use in these areas. These shared spaces have been designated by a chair icon and picnic tables on the map of Seaside.
Parking - There is one standard-sized parking spot per unit provided at the resort. Any additional cars or oversized vehicles need to park on the street.
EV Chargers for electric cars - There is one EV Charging station on the property, just off Water Street. The charger is operated by the Flo network. The rates are $1.50/hour for the first four hours, then it increases $5/hour.
Laundry - Guests may use the laundry facilities between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Laundry detergent pods are available for sale at the front office ($2 per pod/load).
Quiet Hours - Quiet hours are between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am. Please be mindful of the other guests. This is a relaxed and restful place, not the right spot for any late parties.
Fire - Open fires including fireworks and bonfires are not permitted.
Fire Table: New this year, we are trying out a propane fire table on the lawn for our guests to enjoy safely. For more information, please review the instructions and rules of usehere. The main rule is no food/marshmallows allowed near the flames please.
Tap water - We are on the Saint Andrews municipal water supply and it is safe to drink.
Security - The exterior is monitored by security cameras.
Communication via text - If you have provided us your cell phone number, you will receive a text from our new messaging system 'Hello Shift' after check-in. You can text the team questions or reach out if you need something.
Local Coffee - We have a limited supply of freshly-ground coffee available for purchase at the front office ($5). The coffee is from the local coffee shop Honeybeans.
Lawn Games - On the left side of the big lawn, there is a small hut with lawn games (e.g., horseshoes, cornhole) for your use. We also have a kite available - come to the front office if you want to give it a whirl.
Dark Sky and Star Parties: We are a Dark Sky partner with Cliff Valley Astronomy, with amazing star gazing opportunities. We have a pair of binoculars you can borrow for more in-depth star-gazing, as well as a binder highlighting major astro-events to look for in the night sky. We plan to host a few star-parties over the summer, weather permitting - and if you are interested, you can have a private star party here with the local astronomer. Please reach out for more information about these events.
