The Upper Deck is the top flat of our duplex we call the Manitou.
The units in Manitou are our largest two-bedroom units. The Upper Deck has a queen bed in one bedroom, queen bed and single bed in a second bedroom, and a pullout couch and daybed (single) in the living room. It has a well equipped kitchen with full-sized appliances and microwave; there is a set of stairs up to the unit and an outside deck. The apartment has a large bay window with amazing ocean views across the front lawn. This unit is open year-round.
The name "Manitou" comes from the indigenous word for "spirit" and references a supernatural force that the Algonquin people have believed inhabits all things. We named one of our buildings Manitou to honour this concept and also as a nod to Manitoulin Island, where Abe grew up.
Both units in Manitou can be rented and the connecting door unlocked, thereby providing a four-bedroom option for large groups.
