Lower Deck

The Lower Deck is the bottom flat of our duplex called Manitou.

It has a queen bed in one bedroom, double bed and single bed in the second bedroom, and a pullout couch and daybed (single) in the living room. It has a well-equipped kitchen with full-sized appliances and microwave - great spot for a larger group who likes to cook a few meals together.  There is a large main floor deck, which looks across the lawn to the ocean and a set of stairs down to the unit.   Both Manitou units are open year-round.

The name "Manitou" comes from the indigenous word for "spirit" and references a supernatural force that the Algonquin people have believed inhabits all things. We named one of our buildings Manitou to honour this concept and also as a nod to Manitoulin Island, where Abe grew up.
