Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Our goal is to provide a comfortable, safe and relaxing space for all our guests. Everyone staying at Seaside Beach Resort —regardless of age, race, size, shape, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and ability — is respected and welcomed.
The FAQs below outlines some of the common questions and key policies we have in place to ensure guests have a comfortable and safe stay.
What time are Check-in and Check-out?
Can I check in early or stay late?
During the summer season and busy weekends, we cannot accommodate requests to check-in early or to check out late. Our small but mighty team needs time to prepare all the units for the next guests between 11am and 2pm and we appreciate your cooperation. If you are visiting outside of peak season, please contact us and we’ll accommodate if possible.
Can I bring my dog or pet?
For most of our units, pets are not allowed. We want to ensure all our guests at the resort have an excellent experience with minimal disruptions. We also have staff and family members with allergies that need to be accommodated. That said, we love dogs and travel with our dog Garby, so we understand how nice it can be to include them in vacations. This year, we are conducting a pilot project to test out the impact of implementing two pet-friendly units. For any dogs or pets that are not service dogs with proper documentation and/or not approved to stay in the pet-friendly units, we will charge a $500 fine.
Please check out our new Pet Policy.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is a free parking space for one car per unit. Any additional cars can park on the adjacent side streets.
Are there quiet hours?
We ask that guests respect quiet hours between 11pm and 7am (e.g., no loud music, no yelling). There is nothing we can do we about the sound of the waves, but hopefully that helps lull you to sleep.
What should I bring for my stay in St. Andrews-by-the-sea?
What if I want to cook a few meals while staying at the resort?
The Seaside units are well equipped to allow you and your family to prepare a meal. A classic Seaside experience is watching the sunrise from your unit, as you enjoy your morning coffee and toast. There are a few charcoal BBQs available at the resort for your use, first come first serve. Also, there is a grocery store and market a short walk away where you can purchase groceries.
Is the resort wheelchair accessible?
Seaside is, unfortunately, not very wheelchair accessible, but we are actively looking into way to improve this. The historic buildings while charming are not built to allow for good wheelchair access and there are many units with stairs. We recommend giving us a call to discuss your specific requirements and we will accommodate your needs as best we can.
Are group bookings allowed?
Yes! Seaside is ideal for family and friends who want to stay close together but have separate sleeping quarters.
Do you host weddings?
We want to! Historically, weddings have not been hosted at the resort but we are exploring the idea of events taking place outside of the peak season. Please give us a call to discuss further.
Do you host staff retreats?
Yes, we host staff retreats. Depending on your needs, we can provide accommodation and outdoor spaces, with catering and formal meeting spaces through collaboration with our local business owners. Please contact us to discuss further.
Any suggestions if we want to add a special event to our stay?
Saint Andrews has an amazing night sky and star-gazing opportunities.
For a special event, your group may wish to organize a star party, which includes an expert astronomer and high end equipment that will allow you to see the Moon, planets, nebulae, galaxies and star clusters. If you are interested, please send us an email to discuss options. We are working with Cliff Valley Astronomy and we are a Dark Sky Destination partner.

What should I bring for my stay in St. Andrews-by-the-sea?
- A beach towel. Perhaps obvious, but the provided bath towels should stay in the units s.v.p..
- A few light layers and a windbreaker....yes, even in the summer! It can get a bit chilly in the sea breezes, especially if you plan to go whale watching.
- Beach walking shoes. The beach can be quite mucky and it is a bit challenging walking at low tide. We recommend bringing a pair of old sneakers that you don’t mind getting wet, or water shoes
- Plastic bucket and shovel for carrying treasures found on beach walks
- For information about what to do while visiting St. Andrews-by-the-sea, we recommend checking out the town's website: https://explorestandrews.ca/what-to-do/

- For group bookings we ask for a few conditions to be met. When there are four or more units being booked for a common purpose (e.g., family reunion), there is a minimum two night day for group bookings and a maximum of 10 units able to be booked at one time. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost is required at the time of booking. Please give us a call to discuss your needs, and we'll do our best to book you into units in close proximity/in the same building. The earlier you book the more likely it is that we can accommodate your request.
- For group bookings, please email us at [email protected]
